Gordon Family Ranch June '05
In 2005 our friend's the Gordons moved their family cattle ranching operation from Animas New Mexico to Thedford Nebraska. Shawn & Tyler hauled their horses out east this summer to help with Spring Works. The Gordon's hosted a branding and a friendly roping competition. We love spending time with Bobbie & Linette & kids, where family comes first and all horses and cattle are treated with respect and care. Thanks to the Gordons, Dr.Bill Barnes, Scott & Vickie Jo Stokes, Steve Willis, and Bob King for making this a very special trip for a boy and his Dad.

Roping in this mud teaches a horse how to dig in and get the job done.

Vickie Jo holding Buster. Buster had quite an adventure,
sprayed by skunks and shot with porcupine quills.

Tyler loves his horse, Moe, so he took this photo.
Moe says it is a long way from Rancho La Mentada in Baja up here wet, green Nebraska.

Mounted and waiting for a little friendly roping competition: Bobbie in front on Hog Eye, Vickie Jo, Scott, Bill Barns behind.

Cort on his grey Pony. Tyler thought it Cort was well mounted for roping, because the cows weren't afraid of his pony and he could get real close to them to rope.

Chauncy throws a lovely trap shot.

Peacocks are plentiful and help your horses get well broke as they jump from ground to fence to ground again.
